Imam Abu Bakr Ahmad b. al-Husayn al-Bayhaqi (384-458 AH / 994-1066 CE) was the foremost Shafii hadith master of his age in Khurasan, a student of al-Hakim al-Nisaburi and the foundational figure in the consolidation of Ashari-Shafii kalam with the hadith tradition. His al-Sunan al-Kubra is one of the largest hadith collections in the Sunni tradition; his Shuab al-Iman is the standard Sunni manual on the branches of faith; his Asma wa al-Sifat is a foundational reference for Sunni discussion of the divine attributes.

"الاعتقاد والهداية إلى سبيل الرشاد" مَتْنُ الإمام البيهقي في علم الكلام الأشعري الكلاسيكي — تَقْريرٌ شامل للعقيدة السنّية مُرَتَّباً على الأبواب وموثَّقاً في كلِّ بابٍ بالقرآن والصحيح من الحديث. حيث تَبْني كثيرٌ من كتب الكلام نِظَامها من الجَدَل العقلي، يَبْني البيهقي — وهو من أعظم محدِّثي الشافعية في القرن الخامس الهجري — كتابَه من النَّقْل، فلا يَخْلُص إلى استنتاجٍ عقلي إلا بعد تَأْسيسٍ نصّي. يَستوعب الكتابُ صفاتِ الله، والنبوّة، والمعجزات، والقَدَر، والآخرة، ومسائل الإيمان والكفر، وأقوال أهل السنّة في مقابل الفرق.

الإمام أبو بكر أحمد بن الحسين البيهقي (٣٨٤-٤٥٨ هـ) إمام محدِّثي الشافعية في عصره بخراسان، تتلمذ على الحاكم النيسابوري، وكان من أعظم الجامعين بين الحديث والكلام الأشعري. له "السنن الكبرى" من أكبر مَجاميع الحديث، و"شُعَب الإيمان"، و"الأسماء والصفات" من أمّهات المراجع.

Al-Dhahabi praised him as 'Shaykh of Islam' and described him as 'unequalled in his age' (wahid zamanih). He was a central figure in consolidating Ash'ari-Shafi'i theology with the hadith tradition, grounding his theological conclusions in scriptural evidence rather than purely rational argument. His al-Sunan al-Kubra stands as one of the largest hadith compilations in Sunni Islam. His Shu'ab al-Iman is the standard Sunni manual on the branches of faith. His al-Asma' wa al-Sifat is a foundational reference in the Sunni discussion of the divine attributes. His al-I'tiqad wa al-Hidaya ila Sabil al-Rashad is a systematic exposition of Ash'ari creed structured chapter by chapter on Qur'an and authenticated hadith. He also authored important works in Shafi'i jurisprudence.

Anas b. Muhammad Adnan al-Sharafawi: Anas b. Muhammad Adnan al-Sharafawi is a contemporary Damascene scholar and muhaqqiq (verifier and editor of classical texts) whose work centers on the disciplines of creed, logic, and Sufism. He teaches within the Ash'ari tradition in theology, giving lessons on 'aqida and logic, among them al-Bayjuri's celebrated gloss on the Jawharat al-Tawhid, and he is active in transmitting these foundational sciences to students. He has prepared more than fifty critical editions, the bulk of them for Dar al-Taqwa in Damascus and several flagship titles for Dar al-Minhaj, the Jeddah and Beirut house known for high-quality editions of Shafi'i and Ash'ari texts. For Dar al-Minhaj he edited al-Qushayri's al-Risala al-Qushayriyya, the most widely circulated classical manual of Sufism, and Imam al-Ghazali's al-Iqtisad fi al-I'tiqad, a key statement of Ash'ari theology. His other verified editions include al-Sanusi's Umm al-Barahin (al-'Aqida al-Sughra), al-Bayhaqi's al-I'tiqad wa al-Hidaya ila Sabil al-Rashad, and Ibn 'Abbad's commentary on the Hikam of Ibn 'Ata' Allah.
