Ali b. Ahmad al-Azizi: Ali b. Ahmad b. Muhammad al-Azizi al-Bulaqqi (d. 1070 AH / 1659-60 CE), rahimahullah, was a Shafi'i hadith scholar of the later Egyptian scholarly tradition. Associated with Bulaq, Cairo, he is principally known for al-Siraj al-Munir fi al-Iana ala Marifat Baz Maani Kalam Rabbina al-Hakim al-Khabir, a 10-volume commentary on Imam al-Suyuti's al-Jami al-Saghir. Al-Jami al-Saghir is one of the most widely transmitted brief hadith collections in the Sunni tradition, and al-Azizi's commentary, running to ten volumes, became a major Shafi'i hadith teaching reference, providing both textual explanation and legal application of the narrations.
