Hizb al-Istighathat is Imam Yusuf al-Nabhani's devotional litany of istighatha through the Prophet (peace be upon him) — a structured daily wird that the believer recites for relief from difficulty, for spiritual openings, and for the deepening of his bond with the Beloved of Allah. The hizb draws on the established hadith of tawassul through the Prophet, on the verse of the Quran in which Allah calls the Prophet 'rahma li-l-alamin' (a mercy to all the worlds), and on the prayers of the Companions and the salihin who turned to the Prophet in their need.
About The Author
Imam Yusuf b. Ismail al-Nabhani (1265-1350 AH / 1849-1932 CE) was a Palestinian Hanafi judge who served in the courts of Beirut under the late Ottoman empire. Born in Ijzim near Haifa to a family with deep scholarly and Sufi lineage, he received his classical training at al-Azhar in Cairo under masters including Shaykh Ibrahim al-Saqqa and Shaykh Yusuf al-Barqawi. He devoted his enormous literary energy to defending and propagating the traditional Sunni-Sufi heritage in an age of rising reformist challenge — composing more than eighty works in salawat, istighatha, manaqib, theological defense, and Prophetic praise.

"حزب الاستغاثات" وِرْدُ الإمام النبهاني اليومي في الاستغاثة بالنبي ﷺ — حزبٌ منتظم يَتْلوه المؤمنُ لِتفريج الكُرَب، ولِفتوح روحية، ولِتعميق صلتِه بِحَبيب الله. يَسْتَمِدّ الحزبُ من أحاديث التَّوَسُّل بالنبي ﷺ، ومن آية القرآن في وَصْف النبي ﷺ بأنّه "رحمةً للعالمين"، ومن أَدْعِية الصحابة والصالحين الذين تَوَسَّلوا بالنبي في حاجاتهم.
عن المؤلف
الإمام يوسف بن إسماعيل النبهاني (١٢٦٥-١٣٥٠ هـ) قاضٍ حنفيٌّ فلسطيني خَدَم في محاكم بيروت في العهد العثماني المتأخّر. وُلد بإجزِم قرب حيفا في أسرةٍ ذات سلسلة علميّة وصوفية، وتَلَقَّى علمَه الكلاسيكي بالأزهر على شيوخٍ منهم الشيخ إبراهيم السقّا والشيخ يوسف البرقاوي. كرَّس طاقته الأدبية الهائلة للدفاع عن تراث السنّة والتصوّف ولِنَشْره في عصر التحدّيات الإصلاحية، فألَّف ما يَزيد على ثمانين كتاباً في الصلوات والاستغاثة والمناقب والدفاع العقدي ومديح النبي ﷺ.

Yusuf al-Nabhani: Yusuf al-Nabhani (1265-1350 AH / 1849-1932 CE) was a Palestinian scholar, Ottoman jurist, and one of the most prolific poets of devotion to the Prophet Muhammad in the modern era. Shafiʿi in law and Ashʿari in creed, he was born in the village of Ijzim near Haifa, where his father, an imam, gave him his first instruction. He went on to study at al-Azhar in Cairo, then entered the Ottoman judiciary, holding posts across the Ottoman lands and rising to head the rights court of Beirut, an office he held for over twenty years. He took authorization in several Sufi paths, among them the Qadiriyya and Shadhiliyya. Al-Nabhani is most celebrated for his devotional and hadith-related writing centered on the Prophet. His landmark works include Wasaʾil al-Wusul ila Shamaʾil al-Rasul on the Prophet's noble character and appearance, Jamiʿ Karamat al-Awliyaʾ on the saints and their miracles, Saʿadat al-Darayn on prayers upon the Prophet, and al-Anwar al-Muhammadiyya. He compiled vast collections of litanies and praise poetry, such as al-Majmuʿa al-Nabhaniyya fi al-Madaʾih al-Nabawiyya. Late in life he traveled to Madina, where he lived for a time, before returning to his homeland, dying in Ramadan 1350 AH. He is remembered as a steadfast defender of traditional Sunni piety, Sufism, and love of the Prophet against the reformist currents of his day.
