Miraj al-Wusul fi Mabadi Ilm al-Usul

About The Book

Miraj al-Wusul fi Mabadi Ilm al-Usul is Imam Abd al-Qadir al-Iskandarani's foundational treatise on the principles of usul al-fiqh — the discipline of Islamic legal theory that establishes the hermeneutical principles by which the rulings of fiqh are derived from their textual sources. The work treats the foundational categories: the four sources of Sharia (Quran, Sunna, ijma, qiyas), the methods of legal interpretation, the categories of textual meaning (haqiqa and majaz, amm and khass, mutlaq and muqayyad), the foundational principles of legal reasoning, and the questions of ijtihad and taqlid.
