About the author
The Prophet Muhammad: The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (d. 11 AH / 632 CE) is the Seal of the Prophets and Messenger of Allah, sent as a mercy to all the worlds. Born in Makka, he received the first revelation in 610 CE and established the Muslim community in Madina following the Hijra. Among the documents attributed to him are the Constitution of Madina (Sahifat al-Madina), which set out covenants of mutual rights and obligations between the Muhajirun, the Ansar, and the Jewish tribes of Madina, and the Farewell Sermon (Khutbat al-Wada'), delivered on the Plain of Arafat during his final Hajj in 10 AH / 632 CE, in which he outlined foundational principles of justice, sanctity of life, and the rights of people.
