About The Author

Nur Kose is an American-Bengali-Turkish Muslim who is the eldest of five siblings. Nur has roots in upstate New York, Delaware, and North Carolina, where she studied English and Arabic at UNC-Chapel Hill, Class of 2019.

Some of her favorite things are reading, snow, and ice cream (but not strawberry cheesecake with orange sorbet). Her favorite ice cream flavors are Snickers and banana split. She is also the author of the STAIRS series.

Nur Kose: Nur Kose is an American Muslim author of Bengali and Turkish heritage, raised across upstate New York, Delaware, and North Carolina. She studied English and Arabic at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating in 2019. Her fiction for Muslim young readers includes The Two Lights series, of which The Summer When Everything Changed is the first installment, and the STAIRS series. Her work explores the experiences of young American Muslims navigating faith, identity, and community. She is the eldest of five siblings.
