About The Book

We All Love Someone or Something - This book is as much about me as it is about the pious people; the two cannot be separated. We cannot survive without love. I too love my family and friends. However, I am talking about the love of my life - pious people, especially my master Hadrat Sahib (1921 - 2008). My childhood memories are about these people. In adulthood, their lives and teachings have guided me.

The great Persian mystic and author Sa'di [1210 - 1291] beautifully illustrates the benefits of associating oneself with the pious people :

"My beloved gave me aromatic mud in the sauna,
I asked it "I am intoxicated by your scent. Are you musk or ambergris." ?
It replied; "I was a worthless clay, then I spent sometime with the Rose,
The Rose has transformed me, otherwise, a piece of clay I am."

The poem means that if an ordinary person (clay) keeps company with a pious person (Rose) he attains immense benefit and ultimately begins to resemble the Rose. Such is the impact of this association.
