The brilliant contributions of Islam to science, art, and culture, are a timeless and precious heritage, which should be historically preserved for future generations. The great achievements of Muslim scholars are rarely if at all acknowledged in formal education, and today their identity, origins and impact remain largely obscure.

This collection of papers aims to give readers a brief introduction to the intellectual history of Muslims and the contributions that eminent Muslim scholars have made in certain specific fields of knowledge including basic and applied physical and biological sciences, medicine, legal and political theories and practices, economic and financial concepts, models, and institutions, etc.

Dr. Dilnawaz Siddiqui, professor of communication at Clarion University in Pennsylvania, looks into a field where Muslims, in general, are greatly lacking in knowledge and ability. He looks at the power of the media and the harsh realities of the manipulative techniques and tactics that are often used to serve particular agendas or interests. He raises an awareness of these techniques through a detailed analysis of them, supplemented with real-life examples from media coverage in the past. Media being a tool of communication that is at anyone's disposal, the main objective of this talk is to empower the Muslim with the knowledge and understanding of this field in order to recognize ways in which Muslims are being targeted, but also to encourage making changes by seeking to enter this field with the intention of using media for the noble cause of truth and justice.
