About the author
Cihan Okuyucu: Cihan Okuyucu is a Turkish author and researcher specializing in Ottoman and classical Turkish literature. Born in Sakarya, he completed his secondary education there before earning his degree from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Istanbul University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences in 1980. He went on to pursue graduate studies at the Suleymaniye Library, completing his doctorate in Old Turkish Literature in 1985. In 1986 he joined the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Erciyes University, where he was appointed associate professor in 1990 and full professor in 1996. He subsequently moved to Istanbul, where he taught at Fatih University from 1998 onward. Since 2010, he has continued his academic career in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Yildiz Technical University. His scholarly work on Rumi reflects his broader expertise in classical Turkish literary tradition.
