About The Book
This book is a primer text for the sacred school of Hanafi Islamic jurisprudence, written by the erudite scholar, Abu Laith As-Samarqandi (d.375AH). It was considered lost however owing to the efforts of the erudite scholar of our times, Shaykh Atabek Shukurov, the text was found and restored.
There are a growing number of Hanafi Fiqh texts becoming available but none are similar to this work which breaks down the science into its simplest form. The chapters are concise yet expansive offering a text which is an ideal teaching tool for any teacher and student alike that adhere to this school.
Abu Laith As-Samarqandi was one of the leading lights of the Hanafi school during his lifetime and the text has been translated by Arfan Shah under the guidance of Shayk Atabek.
An Extract From The Book
Allah states in the Quran, “Establish worship and pay the tax.” Allah (Mighty and Majestic) orders us to perform the prayer and pay the tax, and an order from Allah indicates compulsion. Also, “Be guardians of your prayers and especially of the midmost prayer and stand up with devotion to Allah.” Meaning, be dedicated to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), He has ordered us to maintain the five daily prayers, and an order from Allah the Exalted indicates necessity. The Quran states, “Worship at fixed times has been enjoined on the believers.” Meaning, appointed times for obligatory prayers.
