About The Book:
What Color is My Hijab? is a children's picture book inspired by a question the author's elementary-school aged niece asked her? The little girl wanted to know why there weren't girls who look like her well-represented in children's literature. Now there are. This book features Muslim women who work in a number of professions: doctors, teachers, artists, politicians, etc., all wearing colorful hijabs.
About the Author:
Hudda Ibrahim is an author, community advocate, and educator. Her closet is full of hijabs in different styles, patterns, and of course, colors! Her first book, From Somalia to Snow, explores how central Minnesota became home to Somalis. Hudda hopes this book brings joy to the girls who wear hijabs and brings light to all of the people they meet.
